Job Description

Sales Supervisor Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business, or related field preferred
  • Two (2) years’ previous experience in customer support, client services, sales, or a related field
  • Demonstrated and proven sales results
  • Basic computer skills and experience with tracking and recording call information, filing documents, or updating customer profiles/accounts; may include entering and tracking merchandise, scheduling with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Focused on customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented
  • In-depth understanding of company services and its position in the market
  • Excellent customer care and focus; ability to assess customers’ needs and provide correct answer, path, troubleshooting, or method for a positive customer experience
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

Sales supervisor job responsibilities:

 

  • A sales supervisor is responsible for directing, managing and motivating the sales team members so that they can together achieve the sales targets or set figures.
  • A sales supervisor is also responsible for developing strategies for selling of products and designing tactics through which maximum revenue can be earned.
  • A person appointed at this job position may also be required to assist the sales manager to resolve customer complaints and issues within the sales department for smooth functioning.
  • A sales supervisor is responsible for supervising the various shift structures appointed to different employees or sales team members.
  • It is the responsibility of a sales supervisor to delegate work or duties to different individuals working on the various job positions within the sales department.
  • A sales supervisor is required to handle the employee related issues and monitoring calls etc.
  • He/she must see to the fact that all the employees adhere to the company’s policies and rules and work as per the instructions given to them.
  • The major goal of a sales supervisor is aimed towards ensuring that every sales team member works in a way which is directed towards achieving the desired sales figures.
