Key Responsibilities include:

Play a principal role in establishing a top level safety culture by enhancing, communicating, implementing and enforcing safety systems and processes across the project.

Interface with Design Manager to ensure that design packages meet optimal budget, program, constructability and safety in design standards

Advise and assist Area Managers to deliver their packages safely, within budget and program by:

monitoring the performance of the foremen and general foremen (supervisory staff) in their areas and reporting/managing deficiencies

actively mentoring supervisory staff to improve the way they execute their roles

providing advice to Area Managers on the efficient use of project resources (plant, labour, material, subcontractors)

hold regular meetings with supervisors both individually and in groups to manage/communicate project wide issues

paying specific attention to certain areas as the Construction Manager requires

Significant involvement in the recruitment and selection of supervisory staff

Significant involvement in the selection and management of subcontractors and suppliers to optimise value for the project and meet safety and regulatory obligations.

Play a key role in the development of tender packages

Stakeholder management as required

Take the lead role in managing IR with input/support from the Construction and HR Managers.

Ensure project resources (plant, labour, material, sub-contractors) are optimised.

Lead the site establishment and demobilisation process to ensure functional and cost efficiency is maximised

Attend cost and program reviews with the Construction Manager

Attend and contribute to program meetings

Ensure Construction Team’s compliance with management systems, processes, corporate, statutory, and legislative requirements, with significant emphasis on Safety and Environment

Ensure the delivery of the output required of Construction Team is on time and to quality specification
